SATURDAY JUNE 15, 2002

Dear Jump Rope Coach,

    Welcome to the 2002 AAU Eastern “Open” Jump Rope Qualifier on June 15, 2002. The Jumping Buddies Club is very happy to host this competition as the final qualifier for the AAU Junior Olympic Games in Hampton Roads this year.

    The top 10 athletes in each division/age group within the Eastern Open Jump Rope Qualifier will advance to the AAU Junior Olympic Games August 3 - August 7, 2002 Knoxville, TN. Carefully review your AAU Jump Rope rulebook for a complete listing of the tournament competition rules, events and age groups. AAU Rule books may be obtained directly from the AAU web sight at http://www.aausports.org/

    The Eastern Qualifier will host teams from The USA and Canada in an “Open” format. We expect a great competition. A separate set of ‘Open” medals will be awarded to non-US competitors.

   The competition will be held at Potomac High School (subject to change) in Woodbridge, Virginia. Directions: take Interstate 95 to exit # 156 Route 784 east Dale City/Rippon Landing. Follow route 784 to traffic light at Route 1/Jefferson Davis Highway. Take Right at the traffic light (Route 1, Jefferson Davis Highway). Follow Route 1 South approximately 3 miles to Four Year Trail. Take right onto “Four Year Trail” and follow to the school. Competition will be held in the main gymnasium.

   Please mail one Tournament Registration Form and one Articles of Understanding per athlete and the complete Tournament Registration Package (Competitor/Judge Sign-Up Sheets) along with the Tournament entry fee of $25.00 US dollars for each competitor to: The Jumping Buddies Club by the Tournament registration deadline date of June 1, 2002. Registrations may be considered after the date of June 1, due to the short time frame between the Regionals. A $5.00 per competitor late fee will apply. Also, please fax or e-mail a completed Tournament Registration Package (Competitor/Judge Sign-Up Sheets) to (703)-878-1822 by the tournament registration deadline for entry into the computer system. .
